Earlier in 2020 I used Kickstarter and with the help of the online fibre community launched my dyeing kits. Find the Kickstarter information here:
My dream is to work with yarn, it has been for a long time. I have researched and taken advice from an experienced fibre artist to create a kit where you can have a taste of the yarn dyeing experience.
Your kit will include:
5 x 20g minis 75% Merino 25% Nylon sock yarn
5 x 3g of Acid Dye (in scarlet, yellow, green, purple and blue)
25g of Citric Acid
A small natural Crafter’s Balm
Two pairs of gloves
3 x wooden stirrers
2 x reusable cable ties
You will also need a pan to dye your yarn in, a respirator or mask for whenever you’re using dyes, and a wooden spoon or tongs for interacting with your yarn whenever your water is hot.
ANYTHING THAT YOU USE IN YOUR DYE PROCESS IS NO LONGER FOOD SAFE. DO NOT USE ANY EQUIPMENT THAT YOU HAVE DYED YARN IN FOR FOOD PREPARATION.
ALWAYS WEAR A RESPIRATOR OR FACE COVERING WHEN WORKING WITH DYES.
